This is what happens when a Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe gets biblically angry. As in Old Testament, End of Days, Apocalypse-style anger; the kind of retribution meted out to earth when aliens finally discover mankind has allowed another Twilight movie to slip through the net. Unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show, the new Benz comes ready for a war, namely, next year’s DTM season. It takes over duties from the outgoing C-Class saloon and finds its base from the new Coupe released earlier this summer. The bare stats are thus: it uses a carbon fibre monocoque with a steel roll cage, incorporating front, lateral and rear crash structures (handy, in DTM), while that ludicrous bonnet and ludicrous side panels and ludicrous wings are all made of carbon fiber. Brilliant.
